Doon University, Admission Notification


Doon University, Dehradun invites application for following courses for academic year 2011 through entrance test

1) SCHOOL OF ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES
a) M.Sc. Environmental Science (with specialization in Natural Resource Management)

Eligibility: Graduation in basic/applied sciences from a recognized University with at least 50 percent marks (45 percent for SC/ST and other categories)

b) M.Sc. Environmental Science (with specialization in Environmental Studies)

Eligibility: Graduation in basic/applied sciences from a recognized University with at least 50 percent marks (45 percent for SC/ST and other categories)

2) SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATION
a) M.A Communication (40 Seats): Eligibility: Graduation in any subject from a recognized University with at least 50 percent marks (45 percent for SC/ST and other categories)

b) Integrated Five year M.A Communication

Eligibility: 10+2 in any subject from a recognized Board with 50 percent marks (45 percent for SC/ST and other categories).

3) SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT
a) Master of Business Administration

Eligibility: The admission will be based on valid MAT Score followed by GD/PI conducted by the University. Applicants must be graduate in any subject with at least 50 percent marks (45 percent for SC/ST and other categories as per State Government rules) and have valid composite MAT score of 600 or above for general category (500 or above for SC/ST and other categories ) to apply.

4) SCHOOL OF SOCIAL SCIENCES
a) Integrated Five year M.Sc. (Economics) course with specialization in Advanced Economics/ Environmental and Natural Resource Economics/ Business Economics with an exit option after three years with a BA (Honors) in Economics.

Eligibility: 10+2 in any subject from a recognized Board with 50 percent marks (45 percent for SC/ST and other categories as per State Government rules). A strong background in quantitative techniques is desirable.

b) M.A Economics
Eligibility- Graduation with at least 50 percent marks in Social Sciences/Commerce (45 percent for SC/ST and other categories as per State Government rules) or 60 percent in any other discipline (55 percent for SC/ST and other categories as per State Government rules) from a recognized University. A strong background in quantitative techniques is desirable.

5) SCHOOL OF LANGUAGES
a) Integrated Five year M.A course (Chinese, Spanish, German languages)

Eligibility: 10+2 in any subject from a recognized Board with 50 percent marks (45 percent for SC/ST and other categories as per State Government rules).


How to Apply:
Prospectus and application form can be obtained by post by submitting a Bank Draft of Rs. 650/- for general categories and Rs. 350/- for SC/ST candidates of Uttarakhand, payable at Dehradun in favour of Doon University Dehradun. The forms will also be available from the University office Kedarpur campus/ Punjab National Bank, Ashley Hall branch Dehradun on payment of Rs 600 or Rs 300 (for SC/ST of Uttarakhand) on cash payment. A copy of the valid SC/ST/OBC certificate will be required at the time of issue of the form. Centre of Examination:
The Admission to all the Courses in the University is strictly on the basis of an Admission Test conducted by the University, except in the case of Master of Business Administration Course. National Sugar Institute, Kanpur, Admission Notification


National Sugar Institute Kanpur invites application for following courses for academic year 2011-12

A. Post Graduate Diploma Course Of Associateship Of National Sugar Institute (ANSI) In Sugar Technology:

(On merit basis of written entrance examination to be held on 25th & 26th June 2011)

Eligibility: B.Sc. with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering having secured minimum 45% marks in aggregate, provided that in the case of candidates, belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes minimum marks will be 40%. The candidates, who have appeared in the final examination of minimum prescribed qualification for A.N.S.I. (Sugar Technology) courses, can also apply for admission. However, they are required to provide the attested copy of the original mark sheet or Internet Mark sheet duly verified by the University of the final examination result at the time of counseling (as given in the letter to be issued to provisionally selected candidates) failing which they will not be admitted and no relaxation is possible to be given on this account.

B. Post Graduate Diploma Course Of Associateship Of National Sugar Institute (Ansi) In Sugar Engineering:
(On merit basis of written entrance examination to be held on 26th June 2011).

Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical or Production or Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification. The candidates, who have appeared in the final examination prescribed qualification for A.N.S.I. (Sugar Engineering) courses, can also apply for admission. However, they are required to provide the attested copy of the original mark sheet or Internet Mark sheet duly verified by the University of the final examination result at the time of counseling (as given in the letter to be issued to provisionally selected candidates) failing which they will not be admitted and no relaxation is possible to be given on this account


C. Post Graduate Diploma Course In Industrial. Fermentation And Alcohol Technology (D.I.F.A.T.):
Eligibility: B.Sc. with Chemistry as one of the subjects and one year experience in a Distillery/Brewery on a technical post. Nomination from Distillery / Brewery is essential.


D.  Certificate Course In Sugar Engineering (S.E.C.C.)

Eligibility: Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical or Production or Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Mechanical Technology of a recognized technical school/college or polytechnic. Nomination from a vacuum pan sugar factory is essential.

E. Certificate Course In Sugar Boiling (S.E.C.C.)
Eligibility: Matriculate with Science/Agriculture and one season’s Sugar Boiling Experience in a Vacuum pan sugar factory. Nomination from a vacuum pan sugar factory is essential.

F. Pre-Harvest Cane Maturity Survey Certificate Course
Eligibility:Intermediate with Science/Agriculture or equivalent with two years experience in a sugar factory laboratory or fieldwork. Nomination from a vacuum pan sugar factory is essential.

G. Fellowship of National Sugar Institute (F.N.S.I.) By Research:
I. F.N.S.I. in Sugar Technology
II. F.N.S.I. in Sugar Chemistry
Eligibility: A.N.S.I. in Sugar Technology

III. F.N.S.I. in Sugar Engineering
Minimum Qualifications: A.N.S.I. In Sugar Engineering

IV. F.N.S.I. in Fermentation Technology
Eligibility: Diploma in Industrial Fermentation and Alcohol Technology (D.I.F.A.T.)





How to Apply:
Application form can be obtained from the NATIONAL SUGAR INSTITUTE, KALINPLUR, KANPUR 208017 against Cash payment of Rs. 600/- (For SC/ST Rs. 400/-) from 01.04.2011. If one desires to obtain the application form by post, he should remit Rs. 600/- (For SC/ST Rs. 400/-) by Money Order QIIIY payable to DIRECTOR, NATIONAL SUGAR INSTITUTE, KANPUR. Candidates are advised to give their names and postal address In CAPITAL LETTERS ON MONEY ORDER FORM, CHEQUES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

The application form can be sent by post only when the request for the same is received in the office of the DIRECTOR on or before 25 April 2011. as the last date of submission of complete application form Is 18.05.2011. The forms can however be personally collected from the Institute up to last date of submission of forms after making due payment.

Application on prescribed forms, completed in all respects with attested copies of certificates should be sent in an ENVELOPE Marked “Admission-201 1” by registered A.D. so as to reach to the DIRECTOR, NATIONAL SUGAR INSTITUTE, KALIANPUR, KANPUR-208017 (U.P.) on or before 18.05.2011. Late receipt of application forms by the candidates should not be considered as an excuse for late submission of the application. It is, therefore, necessary that the candidates should try to get the application forms sufficiently in advance so that the applications, duty completed are submitted well in time. Application received in the office of the DIRECTOR, NATIONAL SUGAR INSTITUTE, KALIANPUR, KANPUR after 18th May 2011 will not be considered under any circumstances.
