XLRI Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) for 2013 Notification| XAT 2013 Dates & Schedules | XAT 2013 Important Dates





XLRI, Jamshedpur, invites applications for Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) on behalf of the Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI) for admissions to 2013
Eligibility:
Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline or complete by June 10, 2013.

How to Apply:
Register for XAT through online payment using credit card/debit card for an amount of Rs.950/- (Rs.650/- for SC/ST candidates). He/she then has to send the XAT confirmation page (that has to be downloaded after registering for XAT) to XAT Office, XLRI, C H Area (East), Jamshedpur- 831001

OR
Register for XAT through cash payment. After successfully completing the registration, the candidate has to download the XAT pay-in-slip. A non- refundable amount of Rs. 950/- (Rs.650/- for SC/ST candidates) is to be tendered to the nearest branch of IDBI Bank. The transaction number provided by the bank in the pay-in-slip has to be entered in the registration webpage and download the XAT confirmation page and send to XAT Office, XLRI, C H Area (East), Jamshedpur- 831001, along with the XLRI’s copy of XAT pay-in-slip.

OR
Register for XAT through demand draft (DD). A candidate has to first make a non-refundable DD for Rs. 950/- (Rs.650/- for SC/ST candidates) drawn in favour of “XLRI Jamshedpur A/c XAT” payable at Jamshedpur and then register for XAT. He/she then has to send the XAT confirmation page (that has to be downloaded after registering for XAT) along with the DD to XAT Office, XLRI, C H Area (East), Jamshedpur- 831001

Indian Institutes of   Management announce dates for Common Admission Test  2012 (CAT 2012)

Kozhikode, India, 22 July 2012 – Indian Institutes of Management today announced the dates for the Common Admission Test 2012 (CAT 2012). Prometric, trusted provider of market-leading test development and test delivery solutions, is IIMs’ partner in developing and delivering CAT 2012.

The number of testing days this year has been increased to 21 days within the window from 11 October to 6 November 2012. The CAT vouchers will be available at selected Axis Bank branches from 30 July to 17 September 2012 and the registration window will be open from 30 July to 19 September 2012.

Similar to the previous year, the CAT 2012 will have only two sections. The first section will focus on Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation; the second on Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning. These two sections will be implemented sequentially with separate time limits. The examination will be for 140 minutes. Candidates will have 70 minutes to answer 30 questions within each section which will have an on-screen countdown timer. Once the time ends for the first section, they will move to the second section and will no longer be able to go back.

A 15-minute tutorial will be provided before the start of the test, and candidates are advised to go through that carefully before starting the main examination. The total duration will be two hours and 35 minutes including the tutorial. A practice test to provide candidates with a feel of the timed sections, as well as navigation and functionality of the actual test is available on the CAT website www.catiim.in . Candidates are advised to go though it carefully to familiarise themselves with the screens, layout, and navigation.

“There are no significant changes to the CAT this year,” said Professor SSS Kumar, CAT 2012 Convenor. “Over the past 3 years, IIMs and Prometric have been reviewing and improving the processes to provide a smooth experience for candidates. This year, our focus remains on conducting the test in a fair and secure manner.”

“Based on candidates’ registration patterns from previous years, we have allowed for a longer registration window this year,” said Soumitra Roy, Managing Director, Prometric India. “Candidates are advised to register early to get their preferred choice of location, date and time.”

CAT Eligibility
The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) (It may also referred to as Persons with Disability (PWD) category)], awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.  The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor’s degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/ institution from where they have obtained the bachelor’s degree. In case the university/ institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100.  Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply.  If selected, such candidates will be allowed to join the programme provisionally, only if he/she submits a certificate latest by June 30, 2013 from the Principal/Registrar of his/her College/Institute (issued on or before June 30, 2013) stating that the candidate has completed all the requirements for obtaining the bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification on the date of the issue of the certificate.  IIMs may verify eligibility at various stages of the selection process, the details of which are provided at the website www.catiim.in. Applicants should note that the mere fulfillment of minimum eligibility criteria will not ensure consideration for shortlisting by IIMs.
Prospective candidates must maintain a valid and unique email account and a phone number throughout the selection process.

ADMISSION PROCESS:
Please note that each IIM shortlists candidates for second stage of selection which may be independent of each other. The process may include Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussions (GD) and Personal Interviews (PI).Performance in CAT2012 examination is an important component in the admission process. IIMs may use previous academic performance of the candidates, relevant work experience and other similar inputs in short listing and ranking of candidates at various stages of the admission process. The processes, academic cut-offs and the weights allocated to the evaluation parameters may vary across IIMs. For more information you may refer the admissions policies of IIMs from their respective websites

CAT Result and Short-listing
CAT 2012 result will be announced on 09 January 2013 on the CAT website. List of shortlisted candidates for the next level of selection will be made available on the individual IIM websites. Each IIM will send interview letters to the candidates it has short-listed. The criteria for short-listing varies from IIM to IIM. PUMBA Executive MBA 2012




Executive MBA is a two years programme conducted in the evening (6.30 PM to 9.30 PM) during Monday to Saturday. The 24 months programme consists of 4 semesters, each of six months duration. Each semester has five courses. Six functional specializations[Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management (HRM), Operations Management, Systems Management and International Business Management (IBM)] are being offered in the second year. Each student will opt for one specialization.


Eligibility Criteria
PUMBA ‘Executive MBA Programme’ is a Two Years’ Post-Graduate Programme leading to MBA Degree of University of Pune. Truly unique and thoughtfully designed, this programme is for working executives and entrepreneurs who inspire to be a part of movement for growth and prosperity. The objective of the programme is to provide an opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills continually.

The interested candidate needs to be a Graduate in any discipline from UGC/AICTE/AIU recognized University/Institution or equivalent with minimum 50% marks (45% in case of reserved category candidates) AND 3-5 years experience at managerial / Executive level. Work experience obtained only after graduation will be considered.

Managers of private and public sectors and Government (State and Central) located in and around Pune region and having the requisite experience are the potential candidates. Entrepreneurs with sizable business and having the requisite experience can also apply provided the business is registered in their name (Proprietor or Partner or one of the Directors).

However, profile & career objectives of the candidate will be given due weightage in admission process.

PUMBA insists for a minimum of 75% attendance in all academic sessions as a mandatory condition for grant of term to a student. Applicants are requested to ensure that they can fulfill this condition along with their day-to-day responsibilities. 
Selection Procedure

Candidates seeking admission have to appear in the Entrance Test followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The Entrance Test will be of 200 marks consisting of objective multiple choice type questions. Group discussion and personal interviews will be conducted for 20 marks each. The University reserves the right to modify/amend the selection criteria based on the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the applications received.

Distribution of Seats

The total intake capacity is 60 seats. Out of this 50% (i.e. 30 seats) will be filled as per statutory reservations only from State of Maharashtra as indicated in the table below. Remaining 30 seats will be filled in the open category. 3% of the total intake capacity (i.e. 2 seats) shall be reserved for physically handicapped candidates and shall be filled up over and above the intake capacity, if required. Decision of the Department in this regard shall be final.

All reserved category candidates must submit a copy of ‘Caste Validity Certificate’ at the time of application. Further, ‘Non-Creamy Layer Certificate’ is mandatory for all reserved categories other than SC/ST. This certificate should be valid for the current year.

Application fee is Rs. 1000/- to be paid by a Demand Draft in favour of ‘Registrar, University of Pune’ payable at ‘Pune’. Candidates are advised to draw a DD before applying online as DD information is required for completing the online application.

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore PGPM Admissions Notice 2012




Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore invites application for Two year Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) 2012-14 batch at RAS AL Khaimah (RAK), UAE commencing in September, 2012 

Eligibility:
The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor’s degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the University/Institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree
In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/institution from where they have obtained the bachelor’s degree
In case the University/Institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100 would establish the equivalence
Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed Bachelor’s degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply
However, the candidates who are appearing for final year examination should have 50% aggregate marks or equivalent grades up to pre-final year
In addition to 50% aggregate marks at Bachelor’s degree, candidates meeting the following criteria are eligible to apply
Meeting the minimum eligibility does not guarantee final selection
Minimum of 85.00 overall percentile score in CAT-2011, or minimum of 600 overall score in GMAT (GMAT score obtained during 01st January, 2011 and 15th June, 2012 is only valid)

How to apply:
Candidates seeking admission to the two year PGP of IIM Indore at RAK, UAE should apply online on or before 20th June, 2012

Admission Process:
The admission process will be consisting of two stages
Eligible candidates will be called for a short duration Written Ability Test (WAT) and personal interview (PI) based on their academic record, performance in CAT 2011/GMAT
Final selection to the PGP would be based on criteria, such as the candidate’s academic record, scholastic achievements, relevant work experience, and performance in CAT 2011/GMAT, WAT and PI
However, IIM Indore reserves the right to change the criteria at its discretion

IIM Indore reserves the right to change the centers at any time if the situation so warrants
Candidates with valid CAT-2011/GMAT scores short listed for WAT and PI will be intimated around 30th June, 2012 along with their centers
Individual regret letters will not be sent to candidates those who are not shortlisted/selected
Programme Fee: The programme tuition fee is Rs 9.75 lakhs per annum (payable at US$) and is payable at the beginning of the academic year
Security deposit is US$ 1000 refundable at the end of the programme
Tuition fee include limited study material
Examination fee is US$ 500 per year
Hostel fee and VISA fee is additional
