INSTITUTE OF FORENSIC SCIENCE
1. M. Sc. Forensic Science- 2 years (4 semesters)
(Specialization in Forensic Biotechnology/ Forensic Chemistry and Toxicology/Forensic Physical Sciences/ Questioned Documents and Fingerprints/ Forensic Information Technology)
Eligibility: Bachelor degree in Science / Medicine /Engineering / Pharmacy with minimum 55% marks.

NIMCET 2012 | NIT MCA 2012





National Institutes of Technology (NITs) are Institutes of National Importance and are Centrally Funded Technical Institutes. The NIMCET is NIT MCA Common Entrance Test, a National Level Test conducted by NITs for admission in to their MCA programme. The admission to the MCA prgoramme in to NITs at Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Calicut, Durgapur, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Raipur, Surathkal, Tiruchirappalli and Warangal for the year 2012-13 is be based on the Rank obtained in NIMCET-2012 ONLY. The Curriculum and Syllabi of Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme offered by NITs are designed considering the needs of different Information Technology Firms in India and abroad.  MCA graduates have high potential for jobs in IT Sector.

Eligibility for NIMCET 2012
Indian Nationals securing 60% marks or 6.5/10 CGPA (55% marks or 6.0/10 CGPA for SC, ST category) in 12th (i.e. 10 + 2) level or equivalent, with Mathematics as one of the subjects at either 10+1 or  10+2 level or at both the levels AND Qualifying Degree - Bachelor’s Degree of Full time* 3 year or more duration from a recognized University with at least one of the following as a chosen subject of study:
Mathematics, Statistics, Business Mathematics, Business Statistics, Discrete Mathematics,
Mathematical Foundations of Computer Science, Computational Mathematics,
Elementary Mathematics, Elementary Statistics are eligible to apply for NIMCET-2012.
The percentages of marks in 10+2 and qualifying degree are to be calculated on the basis of marks obtained in all the subjects (including optional subjects, if any ) studied.


How to Apply for NIMCET 2012
The processing Fee for NIMCET-2012 test and counselling for admission to the MCA programme is Rs.1500 /- for OPEN/OBC category and Rs. 750/- for SC/ST category candidates. Candidates have to take Demand Draft for an appropriate amount relevant to their category. Demand Draft must be drawn in favor of “NIMCET-2012”, payable at Warangal.
Candidates are required to write their name, address and Mobile/Phone Number and NIMCET-2012 Application Number generated,  on the reverse side of the Demand Draft.

NOTE: This is tentative list of test centers. If enough number of candidates do not opt for a particular centre that centre will be cancelled and then center chosen as second choice will be allotted automatically.

SYLLABUS 
1. MATHEMATICS: (50questions)
Set Theory: Concepts of sets – Union, Intersection, Cardinality, Elementary counting; permutations and combinations.
Probability and Statistics: Basic concepts of probability theory, Averages, Dependent and independent events, frequency distributions, measures of central tendencies and dispersions.
Algebra: Fundamental operations in algebra, expansions, factorization, simultaneous linear / quadratic equations, indices, logarithms, arithmetic, geometric and harmonic progressions, determinants and matrices.
Coordinate Geometry:  Rectangular Cartesian coordinates, distance formulae, equation of a line, and intersection of lines, pair of straight lines, equations of a circle, parabola, ellipse, and hyperbola.
Calculus: Limit of functions, continuous function, differentiation of function, tangents and normals, simple examples of maxima and minima. Integration of functions by parts, by substitution and by partial fraction, definite integrals, applications of definite integrals to areas.
Vectors: Position vector, addition and subtraction of vectors, scalar and vector products and their applications to simple geometrical problems and mechanics.
Trigonometry: Simple identities, trigonometric equations properties of triangles, solution of triangles, heights and distances, general solutions of trigonometric equations.
2. ANALYTICAL ABILITY AND LOGICAL REASONING: (40 questions)
The questions in this section will cover logical situation and questions based on the facts given in the passage.
3.COMPUTER AWARENESS: (10 questions)
Computer Basics: Organization of a computer, Central Processing Unit (CPU), structure of instructions in CPU, input/output devices, computer memory, and back-up devices.
Data Representation: Representation of characters, integers and fractions, binary and hexadecimal representations, binary arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, simple arithmetic and two’s complement arithmetic, floating point representation of numbers, Boolean algebra, truth tables, Venn diagrams.
4.GENERAL ENGLISH: (20 questions)
Questions in this section will be designed to test the candidates’ general understanding of the English language. There will be questions on the following topics:
Comprehension, vocabulary, Basic English Grammar (like usage of correct forms of verbs, prepositions and articles), word power, synonyms and antonyms, meaning of words and phrases, technical writing.

Course:  Master of Computer Application (MCA) Entrance Examination for academic year 2011




QUALIFICATIONS:
(a) Nativity: Candidate should be an Indian citizen

(b) Academic Eligibility:
(i) Colleges affiliated to MAHATMA GANDHI UNIVERSITY and KANNUR UNIVERSITY
A pass in any recognized regular Bachelor’s Degree course of minimum three years duration in any discipline with Mathematics at 10+2 level.

OR
A pass in any recognized Regular Bachelors Degree course of minimum three years duration in any discipline with Mathematics/Statistics as one of the Subjects

OR
A pass in BCA Degree of minimum three years duration from a recognized University

(ii) Colleges affiliated to UNIVERSITY of KERALA
Candidates should have passed Bachelors Degree of minimum three years duration after 10+2 level with a minimum of 50% marks in the subject component(s) in any discipline with Mathematics/Statistics/ Computer Science/ Computer Application/ Engineering and Technology as a Main/ Subsidiary/ Core subject.

(iii) Colleges affiliated to UNIVERSITY of CALICUT
Bachelors Degree in any discipline of 3 year duration with mathematics (this does not include Business Mathematics or Business Statistics) as one of the subjects with at least 50% marks scored in mathematics and the course undergone under the regular programme recognized by the Calicut University. 5% of relaxation in marks will be allowed in the case of SEBC candidates and for SC/ST candidates pass in examination is required.

4. Entrance Examination: The Entrance Examination will be conducted at
Thiruvananthapuram,
Ernakulam and
Kozhikode
on 13.08.2011(Saturday). It will be of 2 hours duration and will consist of 150 Objective Type Questions covering the following areas of study at graduate level.
(a) Mathematics (b) Statistics (c) Physics (d) Chemistry (e) General Knowledge (f) General English and (g) Fundamentals of Computer Awareness.


How and When to Apply:
Candidates seeking admission the course can apply online through the website www.cee-kerala.org of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations. There will be separate link for General, SEBC and SC/St candidates. The site will be opened for online registration from 18.07.2011 to 01.08 .2011, 5 p.m.

Application Fee: For General candidates, the Application Fee is Rs.800/- (Rupees Eight hundred only) and for SC/ST candidates the application fee is Rs. 400/- (rupees Four hundred only). The required fee can be remitted at any branch of the State Bank of Travancore using the Bank Chalan which is available in the print out of Online Application. The original chalan should be attached with the print out of the application duly signed and authorized and signed by the Bank authorities on remittance of application fees. Candidates outside Kerala can remit the application fee by attaching a Demand Draft for the requisite amount drawn on a Nationalized Bank in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram.

Last date and time for receipt of filled-in application forms: Candidates seeking admission should take the printout of the application after entering the details online an affix a passport size photograph same as the one which is uploaded, in the space provided. The photograph should be attested by the candidate and forward the application with all the required documents to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Housing Board Buildings, 5th Floor, Santhinagar, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 001, either by Registered post or by hand delivery on or before 01.08.2011, 5 p.m.

MAH-MCA Admission 2011 | MAH-MCA CAP Round – I & II | Submission of Online Option/Preference Form for CAP Round | Centralized Admission Process (CAP) for the Academic Year 2011-12 | MAH-MCA CAP round Schedule



Submission of Online Option/Preference Form for CAP Round-I & II and the Counselling Round of Admission (CAP Round-III) of the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) for the Academic Year 2011-12


This Notification is being issued only for those eligible candidates (whose names are appeared in the Final Merit of MCA published on http://www.dte.org.in/mca) to be admitted to seats available for respective CAP rounds of admission in First Year of Post Graduate Degree course in MCA in the institutes participating in the CAP for the academic year 2011-12.

The Candidates who are eligible for admission to First Year of Three Year Full Time Post Graduate Degree Course in MCA are required to submit the Online Option Form for various CAP rounds on website www.dte.org.in/mca through their login ID. Candidates are required to submit and confirm the online option/preference form by himself / herself (It is not mandatory for the candidate to go to ARC for verification & confirmation of online option form). Once the candidate confirms his/her Option/Preference form online through his/her Login ID for the respective admission rounds, will not be able to change/cancel the option/preference submitted under any circumstances.

Separate lists of candidates eligible to participate in each of CAP Round II & III, will be published on the website as per schedule and shall be subject to the 'Rules of Reporting' set out in the Annexure-I of the Information Brochure.

Candidates are required to pay Rs. 50/- in cash as facilitation fee for each of CAP Round I and II at ARC if the facilitation of ARC is availed by the candidate for submitting the online option form.

Candidates are required to pay Rs.100/- in cash as a processing fee for CAP Round III (Counselling Round) at the Counselling Centre.

Procedure for Filling up of the Online Option/Preference Form for CAP Round-I and CAP Round-II, through Candidate’s Login and Reporting to the allotted institutes after allotment is given in information brochure. Candidates are advised to read these instructions carefully.

Candidates are required to report to the respective institute as per the schedule. Admission Round by counselling i.e. CAP Round-III: Only MS candidates whose names have appeared in the list of candidates eligible to participate in the CAP Round-III, are required to report in person at the following Centre of Admission as per the schedule:

How to Apply:
1. The Prospectus and the Application form may be obtained from 16-06-2011 in person in the Office of the Administrative Officer, Manasagangotri, Mysore-570 006 or from the respective Post- Graduate Centres, on payment of Rs.150/- for each application form and Rs.100/- for prospectus.

2. The candidates can also obtain Application form inclusive of the prospectus through post, by sending Demand Draft for Rs.350/- (inclusive Rs.100/- towards Postal Charges) drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, University of Mysore.

3. Candidates may also download the Application form from the University Website: http.uni.mysore.ac.in and submit the same with a demand draft for Rs.150 (One Hundred and fifty only) towards application fee a demand draft drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, University of Mysore, Mysore.

4. In case of courses with entrance examination, additional fee of Rs.400/- (Rs. Four Hundred only) towards Entrance Exam Fee a Demand Draft drawn in favor of the Finance Officer, University of Mysore, payable at Mysore be sent along with the filled in application.

5. The Entrance Examination for admission to specified courses will be held from 11-07-2011 to 15-07-2011 at Manasagangotri Campus, Mysore 570 006. The details are given in the prospectus.

6. Separate application form should be submitted for admission to each course and also for seeking admission to one and the same course at different Post-Graduate Centres.

7. The filled-in application form in all respects of all courses (except for M.Phil.) along with necessary certificates and copies of marks cards and certificate relating to caste/ category in case of claim for reservation under such category/caste should be submitted to the Chairpersons of respective Department of Studies at Manasagangotri, Mysore 570 006 on or before 08-07-2011 (latest by 5-00 P.M.).

8. The last date for admission to M.Phil Degree course is 30-07-2011. The candidates who intend to join for M.Phil course are required to contact the Chairperson of the concerned department of studies in this regard.
