CAT 2010 begins today

Second Edition of CAT 2010 Online exam begin today across different cities in India. The CAT exam, held annually for admissions into the prestigious Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and 150 other business schools across India. This year near about 2 laky students will be appearing in CAT 2010.

The test will be conducted online in about 78 centers across 33 cities. Forty different sets of question papers have been prepared for the test that ends on Nov 24.

CAT 2010 will be litmus test for Prometric, the agency who conducts the online test & faced criticism over the trouble occurred in CAT 2009. According to Prometric, the test centers have been quarantined and the staff at these centres has also been adequately trained. "All test centre employees have undergone a certification programme to assist candidates and to ensure smooth conduct of the test," the representative said.

The test will be conducted in two sessions each day. The morning session will start at 10am for which the candidates are supposed to report by 8.30am. For the second session beginning at 3.30pm, candidates have to get themselves seated by 2pm. The duration of the test will be two hours and 30 minutes.

The results of CAT-2010 will be declared on Jan 12.
