University of Delhi, MA Admission 2011

University of Delhi invites application for admission to MA (English) courses for the academic year 2011.

Eligibility:

For Direct Admission: 60% and above in the BA Honours (English) from the University of Delhi from 2009 onwards for General Category/OBC and 55% and above in the BA Honours (English) from the University of Delhi from 2009 onwards for SC/ST/PH.

                                                                                                                                                                                            

Selection Procedure

Admission through Entrance Test: 45% and above in the BA Honours (English) of the                    University of Delhi OR 50% and above in the aggregate of a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized Indian University. And 40% and above Marks in the Entrance Test conducted by the Department for General Category Candidates and 30% and above for OBC candidates (No minimum marks in the Entrance for SC/ST Candidates)

How to apply:

ALL CANDIDATES seeking admission / readmission to the MA programme are required to apply in the prescribed form to the Department of English, Arts Faculty (Main Campus), University of Delhi, Delhi 110007. The application form is downloadable from the URL http://www.englishdu.ac.in/ and is also available at the office of the Department of English (Main Campus), from 6 to 24 June, 2011, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. each day, on cash payment of Rs. 20/-,(Those who download the form need to pay Rs.20/- at the office in cash before they collect the Registration Slip cum Admit Card from the office.)

A non-refundable Registration Fee of Rs. 250/- (Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/PH candidates) has to be paid through a Demand Draft drawn on the State Bank of India (payable at Delhi) in favour of “The Registrar, University of Delhi” along with the completed form. Completed forms should reach the office latest by 24 June 2011, 4 p.m.

Important Dates:

Sale of form: From 6 to 24 June, 2011 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2 p.m.-4 p.m. each day

Submission of completed forms: Till 24 June 2011, 4 p.m.

Entrance Test: 4 July 2011, 11 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

Declaration of result: 11 July 2011

Issue of admission slips: From 18 July onwards

Classes commence: 28 July 2011
