Selection Procedure
 (a) Eligible candidates will be required to appear for Written test (Objective as well as Subjective Type) consisting of two papers namely (i) General Awareness (ii) Subject! Specialization concerned.

(b) The candidates who qualify in the written test shall be called for psychometric test and interview as per merit and criteria decided by the Management.

(c) The written test is tentatively scheduled on 18.09.2011. (The exact date of the test shall be communicated to the candidates through admit card and will also be available on ONGC website www.ongcindia.com).

(d) Screening and selection will be based on the details provided by the candidate, hence it is necessary that applicants should furnish only accurate, full and correct information. Furnishing of wrong / false information will be a disqualification and ONGC will NOT be responsible for any consequence of furnishing of such wrong/false information.

(e) ONGC departmental candidates must ensure filling their own CPF Number of ONGC in the appropriate field in the online form, failing which they shall not, repeat SHALL NOT be screened / considered as departmental candidates from ONGC.

(f) Candidate shortlisted for interview, will be required to upload his / her scaned documents of qualifying degree on the online application webse by a cut-off date (to be informed later) before interview, failing which the candidate may not be interviewed.

How to Apply
Only online applications will be accept from 10.00 hours 21/07/2011 to 20.00 hours 20/08/2011 at ONGC website only. .

Important Dates 
  • Registration Start Date 21.07.2011, 1000 hrs
  • Last Date for Registration 12.08.2011, 2000 hrs
  • Last Date for receiving Registration Slip with enclosures 20.08.2011, 1700 hrs
  • All India Written Test (tentative) 18.09.2011

Important instructions to register online:
    1. Please use Internet Explorer only and ensure that Adobe Acrobat Reader is installed on your system.
    2. All candidates must first go through the detailed advertisement provided at the bottom of the page.
    3. After going through the detailed advertisement, please first visit your nearest State Bank of India branch and pay the required test fee:
      (i) Test fee for Gen/OBC Category- Rs.500
      (ii) Test fee for SC/ST/PwD Category- Rs.100
      (iii) Candidate should get the Bank Challan Form filled with the Branch Name, Branch Code, Journal Number and Amount by State Bank of India. Please note that this information is required to be filled by candidates to complete and submit their application and generate the registration slip.
    4. Candidates from reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC) intending to apply for disciplines in which reserved posts are not available, may apply against general category provided they otherwise meet eligibility criteria.
    5. The registration slip needs to be printed and retained by the applicant till the end of the recruitment process. For applicants intending to send their documents by post, they need to affix their photo to the registration slip, sign it, and send it along with ONGC's copy of the Bank Challan to the designated PO Box No.
    6. Registration Id will be generated for the applicants on submission of Email Id, Candidate's Name, Father's Name, Mobile Number & Date of Birth (DOB).
    7. Candidates should have valid email ID. This will help him/her in getting call letter/interview advices etc. by email.
    8. For eligibility criteria please refer detailed advertisement.
    9. Mandatory fields are marked with an asterisk sign (*).
    10. Registration Id will be emailed to candidates to the email id provided during registration. Registration Id will also be available to the candidate on the screen immediately after registration. Please ensure that valid Email Id is provided during registration.
    11. After registration, users may use their registration id to re-login & to check their application status from time to time.
