Bringing relief to thousands of HSC and SSC students, the state education board extended the deadline for students applying for reevaluation of papers this year.
Students, who have already sought photocopies of answer sheets before schools and colleges re-opened have been given time till June 22 to apply for re-evaluation.
We received many complaints from students that they could not get the photocopies of their answer sheets checked by their school/college teachers because of the holidays. Therefore, we have extended the deadline, said Krishanarao Patil, secretary of the Maharashtra State Board for Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
According to the re-evaluation rules by the state board, students are supposed to take photocopies of answer sheets that they desire to get re-evaluated. Students need to first get the photocopy checked by their school/college teacher and based on the remarks given, the institute principal can forward the request to the divisional board office.
Since schools and colleges were shut for holidays and teachers were unavailable, we have extended the deadline only for those students who have already got photocopies of their answer sheets but could not get their papers checked by their teachers, added Patil.HSC and SSC students in Mumbai have time till Saturday to forward their requests.
