National Institute of Homoeopathy invites application for BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine & Surgery) Entrance Examination for Academic year 2011

Eligibility:
Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination with five subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and obtained 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks for the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe) are eligible to apply.
Candidates should attain 17 years of age by 31st December, 2011. For the candidates who have appeared for Higher Secondary (10+2), candidature will be taken into consideration provided that the result of that examination is published before the admission and they have secured the required percentage of marks which has to be substantiated by production of documentary proof. Blind (including colour blind), deaf, and /or dumb candidates are not eligible to apply for the course.


Selection Procedure:
Admissions through All India Entrance Examination will be held for seats other than those that were specified in the notice published In the Employment News (16-22 April 2011). Reservation including to those belonging to Orthopedically Challenged (OC)/OBC category will be made as per extant reservation instructions. The candidates who are desirous of availing such reservation facilities under OBC quota are required to enclose attested copy of their OBC certificate issued by appropriate authority alongwith a declaration that she/he does not belongs to creamy layer of the society (for the format see the Institute website).

The All-India Admission Test will be of three hours duration. The pattern of questions will be of Multiple Choice 200 Questions - Physics (60 questions), Chemistry (60 questions), Biology (60 questions) and General Knowledge (20 questions). There will be Negative marking for wrong answers.


How to Apply:
Filled in application (In candidate’s own handwriting) is to be sent alongwith Bank Draft for Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) in favour of Director, National Institute of Homoeopathy, payable at Kolkata (IPO/Cheque/Cash/ Money Order will not be accepted). No Bank Draft is required in case of SC/ST candidates but a copy of caste certificate attested by a Gazetted Officer should accompany the application. Candidates need not send the photocopies of testimonials with application (except attested copy of caste certificate in case of SC/ST candidates claiming exemption from paying application fee) and OBC/Orthopaedically Handicapped claiming for reservation in admission, but the original certificate must be submitted for verification if provisionally selected.

Test Centres:
The All India Admission Test will be held at seven Centres: Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennal, Hyderabad, Thiruvanthapuram and Bhopal. Candidates should therefore give their choice of centre in the application.

Important Dates:
Last Date of Submission of Applications: 27th May, 2011.
Date of All India Admission Test: - 26th June, 2011 (Sunday).
Date of Publication of the Result of Admission Test - 15th July, 2011.
Date of First Counseling (and of Admission) - 1 & 2 August, 2011.
Date of Second Counseling (and of Admission), if needed - I 6th & I 7th August, 2011.
Date of Third Counseling (and of Admission) - if needed - 22 & 23 August, 2011.
